PRIVACY POLICY
Paradocket LLC
Paradocket LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Paradocket,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a software-as-a-service platform designed to automate workflow tasks for legal professionals and other business customers, including monitoring email correspondence and tracking changes to email recipients and contact information (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information in connection with the Service, our website, and our other business activities. This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use, which govern access to and use of the Service.
Important note about Customer Data. If you are an employee, agent, or contact of one of our business customers (a “Customer”), or if your contact or correspondence information is processed through the Service because you corresponded with a Customer, most of the information about you that passes through the Service (“Customer Data”) is controlled by that Customer, not by Paradocket. Paradocket processes Customer Data on behalf of, and under the instructions of, our Customers, as described in Section 4 below and in the Data Processing Agreement made available to our Customers. If you have questions about personal information relating to a specific matter or correspondence, please contact the Customer (for example, the law firm) directly. This Privacy Policy primarily describes our practices with respect to (a) individuals who visit our website, (b) individuals who register for or administer a Customer account, and (c) our processing of Customer Data on behalf of Customers.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
Account and registration information, such as name, business email address, job title, firm or company name, and password, when you or your organization register for the Service;
Billing information, such as billing contact name, address, and payment details, processed on our behalf by third-party payment processors;
Communications you send to us, such as support requests, feedback, and correspondence; and
Information you submit when connecting an email account or other Third-Party Service to the Service, including authentication credentials or tokens used to establish that connection.
1.2 Customer Data
When a Customer connects an email account or other data source to the Service, we collect and process the correspondence, contact records, and related metadata associated with that connection, including sender and recipient information, timestamps, and changes to recipients over time, in order to provide the Service’s core contact-monitoring and workflow-automation functionality. This may include personal information about the Customer’s own personnel as well as about the Customer’s clients and other third-party contacts. We process this Customer Data as further described in Section 4 below.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website or use the Service, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information, including:
Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and the dates and times of access;
Log data generated by your use of the Service, such as feature usage and error reports; and
Information collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 7 below.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
Provide, operate, maintain, and support the Service, including its email-monitoring and contact-tracking functionality;
Create and manage accounts, process transactions, and provide customer support;
Develop, train, test, and improve the Service and our other current and future products and features, including machine-learning and artificial intelligence models, subject to the limitations described in our Terms of Use and any applicable Data Processing Agreement;
Monitor, analyze, and improve the performance, security, and reliability of the Service;
Communicate with you about the Service, including updates, security alerts, and administrative messages;
Send marketing communications, where permitted by law and subject to your choices described in Section 8; and
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity, and enforce our Terms of Use and other agreements.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information as follows:
With service providers and subprocessors that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, data storage, customer support, analytics, and payment processing, under contractual obligations to protect the information and use it only for the purposes for which it was disclosed;
With a Customer’s own personnel and administrators, in connection with that Customer’s use of the Service;
To comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Paradocket, our users, or others;
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction; and
With your consent or at your direction.
4. Our Processing of Customer Data
With respect to Customer Data, Paradocket generally acts as a service provider or processor, and the applicable Customer acts as the business or controller responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing that Customer Data. We process Customer Data in accordance with the Customer’s instructions, our Terms of Use, and, where applicable, a Data Processing Agreement executed with the Customer. If you are a client, opposing party, or other third-party contact whose information was processed through the Service because you corresponded with a Customer, please direct any requests regarding that information to the applicable Customer.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Customer Data is generally retained for the duration of the applicable Customer’s subscription and for a limited period thereafter to allow for export, as described in our Terms of Use, after which it is deleted or de-identified in accordance with our data retention practices, except where longer retention is required by law.
6. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, consistent with industry-standard practices for software handling sensitive legal and business information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate and improve our website and the Service, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website or the Service.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Account and Marketing Communications
You may update your account information by logging into your account or contacting us. You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those emails; you may still receive administrative or transactional communications relating to the Service.
8.2 State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights with respect to your personal information, which may include the right to know or access the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion of that information, opt out of certain uses or disclosures (including any “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined under applicable law, and any use of personal information for targeted advertising), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Paradocket does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where a request relates to Customer Data, we will refer the request to the applicable Customer or otherwise act consistently with our role as a service provider or processor and any applicable Data Processing Agreement. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
8.3 European and UK Privacy Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Where we act as a processor on behalf of a Customer, we will direct such requests to the applicable Customer where appropriate.
9. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and generally process information on servers located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for such transfers.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated policy on our website or the Service, or by other reasonable means, at least fifteen (15) days before the changes take effect.
